Description
Mexico City was built in layers: civilizations, histories, and flavors. These layers are reflected in its streets, architecture, people, and especially its food.
This curated Michelin taco experience explores Roma Norte through some of its most celebrated taquerías and food spots, all recognized by the Michelin Guide for exceptional Mexican cuisine.
Roma Norte tells the story of Mexico City’s evolution. Developed during the Porfirio Díaz era with French influence, the neighborhood was designed to reflect European elegance and modernity. After the 1985 earthquake, Roma reinvented itself as a creative cultural and culinary hub.
During the tour, you will visit six carefully selected Michelin-recognized taco spots and local favorites, each representing distinct regional styles, flavors, textures, or stories. The selection ranges from traditional Mexico City street tacos to contemporary chef-driven interpretations, highlighting both tradition and innovation.
The tour includes discussions about food, history, migration, culture, neighborhood transformation, and what makes Mexican cuisine unique. Mexican cuisine was the first to be recognized by UNESCO in 2010 as Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity.
Each stop includes a taco or selected dish. The experience proceeds at a relaxed walking pace with a bilingual local host.
