Description
Mexico City has been shaped by successive civilizations and rich histories that are reflected in its streets, architecture, people, and cuisine.
This curated Michelin taco experience explores Roma Norte, visiting some of its most celebrated taquerías and food spots, all acknowledged by the Michelin Guide for exceptional Mexican cuisine.
Originally developed during the Porfirio Díaz era with strong French influence, Roma Norte was designed to reflect European elegance and modernity. After the 1985 earthquake, the neighborhood evolved into a creative cultural and culinary hub.
Participants visit six carefully selected Michelin-recognized taco spots and local favorites, each representing a distinct regional style, flavor, texture, or story. The tour includes traditional Mexico City street tacos and contemporary chef-driven interpretations to showcase both culinary tradition and innovation.
Throughout the walk, the bilingual local guide shares insights on food, history, migration, culture, neighborhood transformation, and Mexico City’s unique identity. Mexican cuisine’s significance is underscored by its 2010 recognition as Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity by the UN.
Each stop provides a taco or selected dish. The experience proceeds at a relaxed walking pace through Roma Norte with a bilingual local host.
