Description
Our tour will take you through the places that shaped Frida’s life and work, from the historic corners of downtown to the picturesque neighborhoods she loved to visit. Join us on this unique journey and discover the essence of Frida Kahlo, a woman who transformed her pain into beauty and her passion into an everlasting legacy.
We will begin our tour at the majestic Metropolitan Cathedral, where we will meet and explore its impressive panoramic view of the Zócalo, the heart of Mexico City.
Our next stop will be the Antiguo Colegio de San Ildefonso, an architectural jewel where Frida attended high school.
We will visit the Museo Vivo del Muralismo located at the SEP headquarters, where Diego Rivera painted the mural series “Corrido de la Revolución Proletaria” between 1923 and 1928. Among his works, the piece “En el Arsenal” stands out, representing the beginning of the workers’ struggle. At the center of the mural, Frida Kahlo appears portrayed delivering weapons, symbolizing her participation in this social movement.
Then, we will stop at a restaurant specializing in Mexican cuisine. Here, you will have the opportunity to choose from a variety of traditional dishes (Cost not included in the tour).
Our next visit will be the Leon Trotsky House, where we will learn about the life and legacy of the famous revolutionary who played an important role in Frida Kahlo’s life.
To conclude the tour, you will be able to choose between visiting the Casa Kahlo or the Casa Azul, two spaces deeply connected to Frida Kahlo’s life.
Casa Kahlo is a more intimate home, where visitors can connect with Frida as a person and not just as an artist, through personal objects, family memories, and details that reveal her daily life.
The Casa Azul, her iconic residence in Coyoacán, invites you to explore the spaces where Frida lived and created, surrounded by vibrant colors, folk art, and the environment that shaped her artistic universe.
Both options offer a unique experience to understand different facets of Frida Kahlo.
