Description

Our tour will take you through the places that shaped her life and work, from the historic corners of downtown to the picturesque neighborhoods she loved to visit. Join us on this unique journey and discover the essence of Frida Kahlo, a woman who transformed her pain into beauty and her passion into an everlasting legacy. We are going to start our tour at the majestic Metropolitan Cathedral, where we will meet and explore its impressive, panoramic view of the Zócalo, the heart of Mexico City. Our next stop will be the Antiguo Colegio de San Ildefonso (Ancient San Ildefonso College), an architectural jewel where Frida used to study high school. We will head to the Diego Rivera Mural Museum to admire the famous work “Dream of a Sunday Afternoon in the Alameda Central”. This iconic mural captures the essence of Mexican history and culture through Kahlo's eyes. Then, we will stop at a restaurant specializing in artisanal Mexican cuisine. Here, you will have the opportunity to choose from a variety of traditional dishes (Cost not included in the tour). Next visit is the House of Leon Trotsky, where we will learn about the life and legacy of the famous revolutionary who was involved in Frida Kahlo's life. We will take a panoramic tour of the Casa Roja, Frida Kahlo's former home. Although we will not enter, our guide will provide us with valuable information about the life and work of this iconic artist. Finally, we will explore the charming neighborhood of Coyoacán. We will stroll through its cobblestone streets, enjoying its bohemian atmosphere and its many cafes, stores and squares full of history and color.
