Description
Begin the tour from central Mexico City with a visit to a cooperative supporting local artisans, where you can see handcrafted pieces and support Mexican artists directly.
Continue to Coyoacán, a historic neighborhood known for its colonial architecture, cobblestone streets, lively plazas, and rich artistic heritage. This area offers insights into the lives of key Mexican cultural figures.
Choose between two museum options: the Frida Kahlo Museum (Casa Azul), showcasing her personal belongings, original artworks, and an extensive Mexican folk art collection, or Casa Kahlo (Casa Roja), a modern immersive space with multisensory exhibits celebrating her creativity. Both museums include a digital tour guide available in English and Spanish to explore at your own pace.
The tour then moves to Ciudad Universitaria, the campus of the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM), a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Here you can admire murals by renowned Mexican artists, visit the Central Library, and see the Olympic Stadium, designed to evoke a volcano’s shape.
The experience concludes in Xochimilco, where you board a traditional trajinera boat to cruise ancient canals filled with floating vendors and local music. If you select the lunch option, you will first enjoy a typical meal at a local restaurant before the boat tour. Xochimilco remains a vibrant cultural site recognized by UNESCO.
This tour combines pre-Hispanic heritage, Mexican art, and local cuisine in some of the most culturally significant locations in Mexico City.
