Itinerary
Day 1: Puebla – Depart from Mexico City to Puebla. Visit the Temple of Santa María Tonantzintla and San Francisco Acatepec. Explore the historic center including Plaza de Armas, Cathedral, Chapel of the Rosary, Casa de las Muñecas, Compañía de Jesús, Plazuela and Callejón de los Sapos, Casa del Alfeñique. Free time at Parian. Overnight stay.
Day 2: Oaxaca – Travel to Oaxaca. Visit Monte Alban (Building S, Building J, Systems IV and M, Tomb 104, Main Platform) and the Santo Domingo de Guzman Temple. Walk the Andador Turístico to Alameda, Cathedral, Zócalo, Benito Juárez and 20 de Noviembre Markets. Free afternoon. Overnight stay.
Day 3: Veracruz – Arrival in Veracruz. Tour the Fort of San Juan de Ulua, Santiago Bastion, Temple of the Good Traveler, Venustiano Carranza and Juarez Lighthouses, Post and Telegraph Buildings, Theater, Shipyards, and Agustin Lara House Museum. Continue to Boca del Río.
Day 4: Tajín and Veracruz – Visit Costa Esmeralda and Tajín archaeological site: Plaza del Arroyo, Central Zone, La Gran Xicalcoliuhqui, El Tajin Chico, the Column Complex, and the Pyramid of the Niches with 365 cavities. Return to Veracruz with free time. Overnight stay.
Day 5: Tlacotalpan and Catemaco – Travel to Tlacotalpan and Papaloapan area. Visit Salto de Eyipantla waterfall and Los Tuxtlas Biosphere Reserve. Visit Ecological Reserve of Nanciyaga and enjoy a boat ride on Catemaco Lagoon. Free time. Overnight stay.
Day 6: Chiapas and Sumidero Canyon – Proceed to Chiapas and visit Parque Ecoturístico Cañon del Sumidero. Boat tour up the Grijalva River through the canyon. Free time in Chiapa de Corzo. Continue to San Cristobal de las Casas for lodging.
Day 7: San Cristobal de las Casas and Surroundings – Visit the indigenous market, Santo Domingo temple, and Amber Museum in San Cristobal. Explore San Juan Chamula and Zinacantan villages. Free afternoon. Overnight stay.
Day 8: Agua Azul and Misol-Ha – Visit Agua Azul waterfalls and Misol-Ha waterfall with option to bathe. Overnight in Palenque.
Day 9: Palenque and Campeche – Cultural visit to Palenque archaeological site: Temple of the Inscriptions, Palace, Temples of the Sun and Foliated Cross, and Queen’s Bath. Free time then travel to Campeche for panoramic visit and free time. Overnight stay.
Day 10: Uxmal and Mérida – Visit Uxmal ruins: Pyramid of the Soothsayer, Quadrangle of the Nuns, Building of the Turtles, Temple of the Governor. Continue to Mérida for panoramic tour: Residential Zone, Monument to the Homeland, Paseo Montejo, Twin Houses, Calle 60, Zócalo, Cathedral. Free time. Overnight stay.
Day 11: Chichen Itza and Cenote Xkeken – Arrival at Chichen Itza for cultural visit: Observatory, Pyramid of the Castle, Ball Court, Sacred Cenote and other temples. Free time. Visit Cenote Xkeken in Dzitnup. Continue to Cancun. Overnight stay.
Day 12: Cancun – Free day to enjoy Cancun and the Caribbean Sea. Overnight stay.
Day 13: Cancun – Room available until 12:00 p.m.
