Description
Your day begins with hotel pickup in Puebla, where you meet your bilingual guide. Travel to Iztaccíhuatl-Popocatépetl National Park, situated at 3,500 m (11,483 ft), enjoying views of Mexico’s volcanoes en route.
After registering at the park checkpoint, start the hike on the Paso de Cortés, a historic mountain pass named after Hernán Cortés. The trail offers views of Iztaccíhuatl (5,230 m / 17,160 ft) and the active Popocatépetl volcano (5,426 m / 17,802 ft).
The 14 km (8.7 mi) round-trip leads through pine forests and high-altitude meadows. Ascend to La Joya at 3,900 m (12,795 ft), where you can observe panoramic mountain and valley views.
Your guide provides information on local geology, history, and biodiversity while supporting and motivating you. Rest stops and photo opportunities are included before the return descent.
After the hike, return to Puebla in a comfortable vehicle with hotel drop-off.
