Forget the tourist trajineras and experience Xochimilco like the locals — kayaking at sunrise, guided by a 4th-generation Chinampera family. Your morning begins at the Cuemanco Pier, where you board your kayak and paddle through the ancient canals of this UNESCO World Heritage Site. In the first light of day, you'll paddle among chinampas while watching herons, ducks, and moorhens in their natural habitat. You arrive at Laguna Tlilac just in time to watch the sunrise — a moment of absolute peace, impossible to find on the usual afternoon trajinera routes. After the ride, you disembark at Chinampa Onkali, the family's floating garden where they grow traditional ingredients. You enjoy a homemade regional breakfast: café de olla, cocoles, quesadillas, sopes, gorditas and tlacoyos — many prepared with products harvested just steps from your table. The experience culminates with a close encounter with the axolotl, a critically endangered amphibian endemic to Xochimilco. Your Chinampa guides share their knowledge about these creatures and the ecosystem that their family has protected for four generations.

• ● Tips to make your experience perfect: Clothing: Wear Lycra or quick-drying clothing (denim gets heavy and cold when wet). Bring an extra change of clothes in case you get splashed (better safe than sorry). Footwear: Sports shoes or non-slip boots are ideal. Don't forget: Sunglasses Headgear If you come by car: There is secure parking (extra cost) Important things to know: Nature puts on the show (sometimes the clouds play hide-and-seek with the sun). We can't guarantee a 100% clear sky, but either way, watching the sunrise from the kayak will be magical! ⭐️ Safety first: No alcohol or substances before/during the experience. If you arrive in that state, you will not be able to participate (no refund). We say this for your safety and the of the group. ️Punctuality: The sun waits for no one: Please arrive on time for the meeting. This gives us time to calmly get the participants into their kayaks and paddle to the spot where we'll see the sunrise.
