Description
The Temazcal Ritual is set off in Temoaya, an important cultural place. On the way there, admire the natural beauty of stunning mountain views and a picturesque lake. Our destination awaits: the Otomi Ceremonial Centre, an architectural masterpiece of ancient traditions.
Step into the world of the Otomi people as we explore a local museum, witnessing their resolute efforts to preserve their rich cultural heritage. From there, we’ll go to an ecological park for a traditional temazcal ceremony, where centuries-old rituals blend cleansing, therapeutic, and spiritual elements.
In the afternoon, cleansed and revitalized, it’s time to savor the flavors of tradition. Taste pulque, a fermented beverage consumed by generations of locals.
After an optional lunch, we make our way to San Pedro Abajo, renowned for its exceptional craft tapestries. Delight in the intricate indigenous designs woven into these hand-knotted carpets, as we visit a cooperative society workshop, witnessing the skilled artistry of Otomi women in creating woolen garments.
Later, we’ll stroll along Temoaya’s quaint cobbled streets, immersing ourselves in the charm of its main square and church.
Once the sun sets, relax in our vehicle and save in your mind this fantastic trip as we journey back to Mexico City.
