Description
This experience is ideal for anyone looking for a refreshing, alternative, and contemporary view of Mexico´s history, social dynamics, and literature. Please consider that you do not need to be an expert or have any basis on the topic to join!
We will meet in Casa de los Azulejos, in Madero Street, Downtown CDMX. This is an architecture gem, where we will start our conversation about modern authors and art expressions -such as Octavio Paz, and muralism. It includes any drink of your preference.
We will then go to a beautiful church nearby, to discuss Sor Juana Ines De La Cruz´s intellectual legacy -in terms of religion, science, and poetry.
After that, we will walk down the street talking about baroque architecture and the development of Zócalo, where we will discuss Mexican colonialism and pre-Hispanic roots.
Finally, we will explore the archeological windows of Templo Mayor -one of the oldest temples/pyramids in the area-, reading about the greatest poet of ancient Mesoamerica: Nezahuacoyotl.
