Description
Join this intimate, small-group tour (max 12 people) for an authentic experience of Mexico City’s vibrant markets and culture! Start by exploring a hidden market, where you’ll see political art from the 1900s. Your guide will share the socio-political history of Mexico and its relevance today.
Next, travel like a local on the metro to a flower market bursting with color, fresh produce, herbs, meat, pinatas, and even love potions! Along the way, you’ll sample tasty Mexican street foods like tacos, tamales, and atole, a traditional warm drink. After shopping for fresh vegetables, head to a local family business, where you’ll learn to prepare salsa in the traditional way using a molcajete (mortar and pestle). You’ll smash the ingredients and taste your homemade salsa with a classic huarache!
Along the way, you’ll support independent market vendors and gain real connections with locals, all while enjoying a sustainable, eco-friendly tour.
