Description

This hands-on cooking class takes place in a contemporary studio in the Roma Norte neighborhood, ideal for food enthusiasts interested in Mexican cuisine.

The experience begins with a welcome drink of agua fresca or a coffee infusion while your chef introduces the history of Mexican cooking. Then, explore Mercado de Medellín on a market tour to discover local products and traditions.

At the market, taste native corn quesadillas at an organic tortillería and see the traditional nixtamalization process. Learn about different chilis at a chili stand. Sample 100% raw cacao and artisanal chocolate from Oaxaca.

Try exotic insects such as crickets, chicatana (flying ants), and chinicuil (worms). Enjoy seasonal native fruits like mamey, chicozapote, tuna, and hand-crafted ice cream.

Return to the studio for a cooking class focused on preparing 10 Mexican salsas with various techniques: roasting, cooking, frying, or raw.

Finish the experience by tasting your salsas served with street food tacos and appetizers. Choices include cochinita pibil, cecina, roasted potatoes, scrambled eggs, sautéed mushrooms, cactus leaves, zucchini, fried beans, and quesadillas.
