Description
Start your adventure with a scenic drive east, surrounded by the imposing Popocatépetl and Iztaccíhuatl volcanoes, as you approach historic Cholula. Upon arrival, you'll be amazed by the majestic Great Pyramid of Cholula. At its top stands a colonial church, offering a spectacular view and a fascinating history of pre-Hispanic and colonial myths.
Then, you'll visit Santa Maria Tonantzintla, a unique church that fuses European Baroque art with indigenous symbols. Its vibrant and detailed decor will immerse you in a visual experience that reflects Mexico's rich mix of cultures.
We'll continue the tour to Puebla, known as the 'City of Angels.' You'll tour its beautiful historic center, a World Heritage Site, and discover the imposing Puebla Cathedral, one of the largest and most beautiful in the country. You'll also admire the Chapel of the Rosary in the Church of Santo Domingo, famous for its rich golden decoration.
If you choose the lunch option, you'll enjoy a delicious traditional Puebla meal at a local restaurant, where you can savor specialties like mole poblano or chalupas.
Your day will end at the Mercado de Parián, a colorful craft market where you can see and buy Talavera ceramics, textiles, and other authentic crafts made by local artisans. You'll have some free time to stroll through the picturesque streets of Puebla, admiring its colonial architecture before heading back to Mexico City.
