Description
You will start your trip in Mexico City, from where you will take a road surrounded by spectacular landscapes with the mountains in the background, heading east of the city. During the journey, you can admire the impressive views of the Popocatépetl and Iztaccíhuatl volcanoes, which, although still active, look majestic with their glacier-covered cones. After enjoying this impressive tour, you will arrive at the picturesque town of Cholula.
This site owes its name to the goddess Cholula, protector of life, light, and fertility, and for this reason, the city of Quetzalcóatl was considered a sacred place. From here, we will head to Santa María Tonantzintla, a unique church that blends two religious traditions, indigenous and Christian. It is recognized as the jewel of indigenous Baroque art. In addition to exploring this monument, you will have the opportunity to delve into the rich local history and culture.
But the tour does not end there. You will arrive in Puebla, famous for its delicious cuisine, colonial architecture, and traditional ceramics. On a guided visit of the historic center, you will visit the imposing Cathedral and other landmarks of this charming 'City of Angels.'
Before returning to Mexico City, you will have time to sample the local food (if you select the option with food) and explore the Parián Market. This market is the most famous in Puebla, with more than 112 stalls decorated with Talavera bricks and tiles. Here you can find typical regional handicrafts, such as tableware, wax dolls, and all kinds of pottery. A cultural experience not to be missed!
