Cancun

Tropical City

Cancun is everything you want and more! It is a tropical paradise and a city that never sleeps; is a top tourist destination, located in the Caribbean, with great tropical weather white sand beaches, and a beautiful blue sea.

But that is not the only thing Cancun has to offer; as a modern city, there are many accommodation options, exciting nightlife, and so many different activities. Believe us, you won’t miss home!

Let’s take a step back and talk about what you can expect from this world known destination. Cancun is located on the northeast coast of the Yucatan Peninsula in southeastern Mexico, it has tropical and humid weather with year round sunshine and the temperature is roughly around the 25°C (77°F).

The city is split into two; The Cancun Hotel Zone and Downtown Cancun. The first is where you will find most of the tourists, mostly all-inclusive resort hotels and part of whereas the latter is the real Mexican city, with an abundance of restaurants, shopping centers, markets, and clubs.

The International Airport is just 10 km away from the city and it handles the second-largest volume of traffic in Mexico. The Airport features many duty-free shops and gift shops for last-minute shoppers.

Getting around Cancun is easy and also a fun experience; you can catch a bus for $7.00 pesos, the R1 and R2 buses take you around the hotel zone and downtown, you can catch a new one every few minutes, some of them are air-conditioned and have wi-fi.

Taxis are also an available option, of course, they are expensive but they will take you to a specific place so you can save the worries! Lastly, there are many car rentals throughout the city; we recommend this only if you are planning to move a lot between long distances. More on public transportation here.

Now, for the people; the official language spoken in Mexico is Spanish, and Cancun is not the exception. However, most Mexicans working in tourism speak English; some of them even speak other languages like French, German or Italian. Locals may also have Mayan as their first or second language, it’s common to hear them talking in Mayan among themselves.

Cancun is famous for its man-made and natural attractions. Home to the world’s second-largest barrier reef, it is an ideal place for snorkeling and scuba diving. There are archeological sites and cenotes (sinkholes) nearby and you can always book a tour at your hotel to Tulum or X-caret.

The City also provides great spots for golfing, fishing, and playing all kinds of sports, Cancun also features many shopping malls, spas, and restaurants.

Cancun gets thousands of visitors every year for spring break. The nightlife in Cancun is incomparable; there are dozens of great bars, clubs, and even lounges to ensure the perfect night out. There are many things to do in Cancun, as there is something for everyone.

Families, couples and groups of people go there every year to have the vacations of their life. Don’t miss the chance of visiting this beautiful paradise, you won’t regret it!
