Discover the rich history of Mexico City with a visit to Teotihuacan, Tlatelolco, and the Guadalupe Shrine. Begin at Tlatelolco, an archaeological site featuring ancient temples and stories of pre-Hispanic rituals, human sacrifices, and the Lovers of Tlatelolco.
Next, visit the Basilica of Our Lady of Guadalupe, a major Catholic pilgrimage destination. See the sacred cloak bearing the image of the Virgin of Guadalupe and learn about its cultural and religious importance.
Continue to an obsidian workshop to observe traditional volcanic stone craftsmanship, followed by a tequila tasting to sample Mexico’s renowned spirit.
For lunch, select one of two options based on the schedule. Choose a traditional Mexican buffet lunch at a local restaurant featuring live music and dance, or opt for a traditional Mexican barbacoa prepared in an earthen oven using ancestral techniques. The barbacoa option includes a visit to the Toltekani Artisan Center, participation in a Mexica energy harmonization ceremony, and tasting of pulque, tequila, and artisanal liqueurs.
The tour concludes at the Teotihuacan Pyramids, where you can walk the Avenue of the Dead, explore sacred temples, and admire this UNESCO World Heritage Site’s impressive architecture.
