Luxury and elegance come to life in 1891 when J. Tron y Cía. They decide to establish the first and most modern department store in the famous Historic Center of Mexico City.
With an iron and steel structure inside, a beautiful design inspired by the most beautiful and important shops in Paris, New York, London, and Chicago, the first building of
El Palacio de Hierro was installed.
Its success was immediate and was reflected by expanding the building's facilities twice due to the astonishing acceptance and liking of countless clients. Unfortunately, the building suffered a fire and, in 1921, it was reopened, modernized with Art Deco and Art Nouveau details, positioning it once again as the best department store.
