Yamil Lu’um Archaeological Zone
Mayan ruins just steps away.
- In addition to being in front of the sea, it has another peculiarity: it is located on a rock that is considered the highest point on the entire coast of the city.
- There is double access to these ruins, one of them is through the beach; and, the other, through a hotel.
- It has two temples; the main monument is called the Temple of Alarcán. It bears this name since a structure of an arachnid was found on one of its walls.
- This construction was built approximately in the Late Postclassic Period (1200-1550).
