El Vallecito Archaeological Zone
In the area there is still a stone pine forest that in summer was exploited by the Kumiai of the region, however, the richness of the pine nut forests goes further, as it is located in a transition zone with chaparral vegetation and to the north with typical desert vegetation, which provided a considerable amount of food for its former inhabitants. This food must have been enough for many families to get together during that time and to carry out celebrations, exchanges, and magical-religious rituals.
Of the 23 sets with paintings and petroglyphs, only five are open to the public, which are visited on a route on a thematic trail of around 2 kilometers, These are visited in the following order: Shark Set, Solstice Set or the Little Devil, the Rooted Man Ensemble, La Cueva del Indio and Los Solecitos or Wittinñur Ensemble.
