Event Details
This 3rd Bartenders Tournament will take place on June 1st, 2nd and 3rd, with a very special and unique modality.
4 jurors will go around 20 bars to score and qualify 20 bartenders. Once the qualification is obtained, on Saturday June 3rd, a breakfast and awards ceremony will be organized.
We hope that many companies, brands and friends will join this event, supporting us to make the event spectacular.
The event will be broadcast live, on social networks, by the digital media Dimension Total.(instagram and facebook).
Description:
Each contestant, will have to overcome 3 challenges, which will be qualified by 4 judges:
Challenge 1) Demonstrate their Bartender skills, serving:
* 1 oz or 30 ml in a shaker
* 1.5 oz or 45 ml in a shaker
* 2 oz or 60 ml in a shaker
The spirits to be served will be drawn by lottery and must be served with a pour spout without a jigger.
They will be measured with a graduated cylinder.
Each measurement will be evaluated separately (exact total 30 points):
Accurate: 10 points
Error up to 10 ml: 5 points
Error > 10 ml: 0 points
Challenge 2) Prepare a Classic Negroni cocktail in Speed:
1 oz Bitter
1 oz Vemouth Rosso
1 oz Gin
Garnish: Orange peel
Drink straight, use jigger.
Challenge 3) Prepare a signature cocktail using the spirit assigned by lottery, showing at the time of presentation, bottle used and relating what was learned from the distillate. The cocktail must be paired with a tapa (starter, small plate) created by a chef chosen by the bartender as a partner of the tournament.
The 3 challenges will be evaluated by the 4 jurors, and the winner will be announced on Saturday June 3rd at a breakfast with all the participants (in case of a tie in points, the winner will be the bartender with the best time in test 2).
Each Bartender will have to perform this test in their own domain, in their own temple, where the jury will visit them and take scores.
The drink will be auctioned among the public present, for the benefit of the venue in question (the organization suggests that 50% goes to the bartender and 50% to the venue, but it is up to the venue to decide).
If you don't have the support of your place of work, you can ask for a place in a friendly bar, which will allow you to show your skills.
