Description
The tour begins with hotel pickup or meeting at the Revolution Monument. You will travel to Tlaxcala city center for a walking tour of significant sites such as the Cathedral of Our Lady of the Assumption, one of the oldest cathedrals in the region.
Next, take a panoramic tour of Casa del Ayuntamiento, the Portals, and the Government Palace. Then descend to the Basilica of Our Lady of Ocotlan, where a local legend tells of the Virgin providing miraculous water to cure an epidemic. Entry to the Basilica depends on availability. You will also have free time to purchase local crafts and food.
In the evening, travel to Nanacamilpa for a two-hour walk through the forest to see the natural light display of thousands of fireflies. Afterward, return to your hotel or meeting point.
