Description
This tour reveals a less explored side of Mexico City, focusing on neighborhoods and markets away from typical tourist routes. Led by Isaías, a local guide, you will discover street art that reflects the culture of a strong, diverse, and passionate Mexican community.
The murals tell stories of tradition, including the importance of corn, the role of markets in the economy, and Mexican pride, all depicted on the colorful walls of local buildings.
The tour begins in Colonia Roma and includes a visit to a local market featuring murals about cuisine and pre-Hispanic history. You will then walk along a historic avenue to see murals at a public elementary school and other frequently updated mural spaces.
A break at a major craft market allows you to view a mural by a visual artist known for her collaborations with brands like Alpura, LALA, Knorr, Champion, and The Cheesecake Factory. Afterwards, enjoy a gourmet break at an iconic Mexico City taquería before continuing.
The tour concludes in one of the city’s key neighborhoods for street art, where murals chronicle the local history and pride in a unique pre-Columbian heritage.
