Description
The tour begins at the Fiesta Americana hotel on Paseo de la Reforma, where you will board a luxury, air-conditioned vehicle with a bilingual guide. Your first stop is the Coyoacán neighborhood, known for its cobbled streets, colonial houses, traditional squares, and bohemian atmosphere. Enjoy free time to explore local markets, try Mexican sweets, or see the exterior of the Frida Kahlo Museum (admission not included).
Next, you will navigate the canals of Xochimilco on a traditional trajinera boat. Here, vibrant colors, aromas, and music accompany your cruise through ancient floating gardens called chinampas. Sample traditional dishes and tequila during the ride, and conclude with a visit to a local craft market.
The final stop is University City (Ciudad Universitaria), where you will view important cultural landmarks such as the Rectory building with David Alfaro Siqueiros's mural and the University Olympic Stadium, a UNESCO World Heritage Site featuring Diego Rivera’s mural.
