Description

This hike starts with a pickup from your accommodation in Mexico City. You should have been in the city at least 24 hours prior to the tour to acclimate to the altitude. After pickup, the journey begins to Nevado de Toluca volcano, also known as Xinantecatl in Nahuatl.

Bring at least 1.5 liters of water, electrolytes, and snacks. At the base of the volcano, you can choose to take a truck near the crater or hike the entire route. Upon arrival at the crater, you can decide to descend to the Sun and Moon lagoons or continue ascending to the highest point, depending on weather and conditions as advised by the guide.

At your destination, time is allotted for rest, photos, and refreshments. Afterward, the group will descend back to the vehicle for the return trip and a meal stop before heading back to your accommodation.
