Description
Discover Mexico City’s historic center, home to more than 180 museums and rich cultural heritage. Visit key sites such as the Templo Mayor, the Metropolitan Cathedral, and the Palace of Iturbide.
Start at the Templo Mayor, the main ceremonial and spiritual center of the Mexicas. Enter the Metropolitan Cathedral, the largest cathedral in Latin America, built atop pre-Hispanic ruins.
See representations of Tenochtitlan in its prime and visit a metro station featuring the symbol given by Huitzilopochtli, the solar god of war, which appears on the Mexican flag. Learn about Spanish conquistador Hernan Cortes and view a mural depicting his encounter with the Mexica emperor Moctezuma.
Visit a renowned hotel with notable art nouveau decoration. Continue to the Palace of Iturbide, once home to Mexico’s first emperor, and the iconic House of Tiles.
Explore the Palacio de Bellas Artes, one of the world’s most beautiful opera houses. Admire murals by Diego Rivera, David Alfaro Siqueiros, and Jose Clemente Orozco. The tour concludes with a visit to one of the city’s oldest bakeries where you will receive a traditional bread.
