Itinerary
Day 1: Arrival in Mexico City
Meet your professional naturalist guide and transfer to the Cathedral Hotel (or similar). Attend a welcome briefing that covers the tour details and monarch butterfly facts.
Day 2: Anthropology Museum and Valle de Bravo
Visit the National Anthropology Museum, home to significant artifacts including the Aztec Sunstone. Then transfer to Valle de Bravo, known for its lake, golf courses, and horse-riding clubs. Overnight at Mesón de las Leyendas Hotel (or similar).
Day 3: Piedra Herrada Sanctuary
Travel to the Piedra Herrada Sanctuary by horse for an immersive monarch butterfly experience in a less crowded, natural setting. Overnight in Valle de Bravo again.
Day 4: Capulin Sanctuary
Visit Capulin Sanctuary to see Los Tres Gobernadores prairie, experiencing native vegetation transitions and large hibernation colonies. Return to the Mesón de las Leyendas Hotel for the night.
Day 5: Free Day in Valle de Bravo
