Description

Learn about the history and architecture of the historic center of Mexico City on a walking tour focused on the cultural development of the capital. The walk begins at the Zócalo, the main square, where you'll see the exterior design of the Metropolitan Cathedral and the archaeological remains of the Templo Mayor from the surrounding access points. During the walk through the historic streets, your local guide will explain the transformation of the city from ancient Tenochtitlan to the colonial period and the modern era, providing information about the National Palace and Plaza de Santo Domingo. The tour continues along pedestrian streets to see the façades of iconic buildings such as the National Art Museum, the Palacio de Correos, and the House of the Tiles, characterized by its blue-and-white ceramic roof. The activity ends outside the Palace of Fine Arts, a cultural landmark located in a central area that will allow you to continue exploring on your own.
