Creativity and Criticality
This edition of Flux institute will focus on strategies and tools that foster both creative approaches to teaching and learning as well as those that empower students to think critically. Workshops will apply to both online and in-person learning.

Student Curators & Creators
Tuesday, April 13th & Thursday, April 15th, 4-5 pm PT/7-8 pm ET


Led by Rabiya Kassam-Clay, John Marshall High School, Los Angeles

Learn how teachers can provide opportunities for students to reimagine public spaces to reveal untold histories and new possible futures. We will share ideas for how students can understand existing public spaces and design their own.

Tu Barrio Te Respalda
Tuesday, April 13th & Thursday, April 15th, 5-6 pm PT/8-9 pm ET


With Andonella and Plaqueta, Mexico City

A conversation (Spanish with English translation) with Andonella and Plaqueta about their book, Tu Barrio Te Respalda, on women's history. We will explore how to build today's feminist barrio and bring community storytelling into our classrooms.

Empowering Students as Peer Educators
Tuesday, April 20th & Thursday, April 22nd, 4-5 pm PT/7-8 pm ET


Led by Grace Stearns, American School Foundation, Mexico City

Learn how to empower students to have meta-awareness of the skills and strengths that they bring to collaborative projects in the classroom as well as how to have students take ownership of their learning and become effective communicators.

Teachers and Students as Visual Communicators
Tuesday, April 20th & Thursday, April 22nd, 5-6 pm PT/8-9 pm ET


Led by Melannie Hurtado, American School Foundation, Mexico City

Learn about the importance of effective visual communication through the creation of simple and appealing graphics and presentations as well as how to foster a learning environment that is dynamic and encourages visual thinking.

Participants may register for any or all modules of their choice

$40 per module or $150 for the entire package

All proceeds after honorariums will go to a feminist Mexican organization.
