We are celebrating! Quintana Roo is celebrating the 53rd Anniversary of the founding of the city of Cancun, and as part of the celebratory activities a marathon has been organised (with a limited number of 1,000 participants) where there will be the possibility to participate in races of  5, 10 and up to 21 kilometres. 

21 km Half Marathon Awards

Cash prizes and trophies will be awarded to the first 3 places as Absolute Winners of the Half Marathon in both genders, male and female, according to the official time, as indicated below:

1st Place: $5,000.00 (five thousand pesos 00/100 M.N.) and trophy.
2nd Place: $ 3,000.00 (three thousand pesos 00/100 M.N.) and a trophy.
3rd Place: $2,000.00 (two thousand pesos 00/100 M.N.) and trophy.

It is important to consider the following: 

  • Prizes are not cumulative, the absolute winners will be awarded and will be out of the awards in their age category.
  • The best official times will be announced the same day of the competition on social networks and on the official pages.
Prize money clauses:
  • The payment of the winners will be made on Sunday 16 April 2023 during the award ceremony, which will be located in the finish area.
  • A 7% of the prize money will be retained for Mexican participants and 14% for foreign participants.
  • For the prize-giving ceremony, the winners will have to prove their age with an official ID (INE or valid passport) and it will be essential to present the original and a copy of the ID. In the case of young people between 15 and 19 years of age, they must present a school ID or birth certificate and have the authorisation of their parents or guardians.
  • The Organising Committee is not responsible for late payments.
Awarding of prizes for the 10 km race
Trophies and prizes in kind will be awarded to the first 3 places in each age category, both male and female (according to the official time).

The 5 km race is recreational and will NOT have prizes.

Where?
Start and finish line: Esplanade of the Cancun City Hall, located at Av. Tulum 5-5, Centro, 77500, Cancun, Quintana Roo.
