Yal Kú Lagoon & Cenote
The cove is bordered by dense mangroves and limestone formations. Different colors of water may be seen from various angles and depending on the light: from brilliant turquoise blue to emerald. Some parts of the lagoon are so crystalline that the roots of mangroves and huge boulders lying beneath the water may be seen.Dense mangroves and limestone formations.
Because the lagoon is administered as a natural park, you can go there on your own. The entry fee is around 300 pesos per person, and equipment rental is charged separately. It is open from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. daily.
Yal Kú’s depth is often modest, not surpassing three meters. There is also no particularly strong current, so there is no need to be concerned if you do not swim well. The usage of a life jacket, on the other hand, is required.
Snorkeling is available in the cove: with a viewer, you may observe a plethora of colorful fish and, if you're fortunate, rays or barracudas.
Aside from the rental of equipment, lockers, and ecological bathrooms, don't expect to find many services in the vicinity. Yal K is a wonderful spot to spend time in nature away from the people since it is not as busy as other sites on the Riviera Maya, but it does not have restaurants or beach furniture.
